People who participate in this program are introduced to the history of the bay. They understand the importance of their actions on the fragile ecosystem of our oceans and how this translates into their daily lives. They learn about navigation and how important teamwork is to the smooth running of a ship and well as in life. Students are given a unique view of their surroundings from the bay. They experience the power of the ocean through tides and currents.

I travel more than 100 miles each way in order to volunteer on this project. THAT is how important I think the lessons learned from this experience can be.

This organizations brings wonderful hands on information to students and teachers alike regarding the roles these wonderful creatures play in our environment. Even more importantly the program generates respect for these giants and demonstrates in tangible ways how individuals, schools and other groups can work to help our environment by maintaining a healthy ecosystem for our whales.
My students were given their first exposure to whales, their roles and how to work toward helping to save our whale population. Most of my students have never been to the ocean despite living less than 25 miles away. They had no idea of the way whales hear and the tuning fork demonstration was very personal. They valued the opportunity to see the types of food eaten and to actually touch whalebone was thrilling for them. I highly recommend the program and have actively worked to bring it to my school for all third graders to experience.

Outstanding resource! I am a special needs teacher who travels more than 45 miles each way to make use of the creativity and generosity of the persons who make this resource possible. Just this last visit I was able to add a laptop to my classroom, which otherwise would never have been possible. I love the "hands on" incredibly well priced teaching tools.
