Goodwill Industries Manasota, Inc.
January 21, 2010
Goodwill Industries Manasota is a unique nonprofit organization that delivers a hand up rather than a hand out to many deserving individuals. Through a progressive and efficient business model, Goodwill converts donated goods into good jobs, good homes and good neighborhoods.
After a summer internship with Goodwill Manasota in 1993, I quickly realized that Goodwill was more than just a place to donate your old "stuff." Rather, the organization is acutely focused on providing employment opportunities to individuals with barriers to employment. This opportunity to earn a paycheck is the foundation for self confidence, family stability and community wellness. The leadership at Goodwill has perfected the retail side of the donated good business with the sole purpose of job creation, affordable housing programs, community serice integration and other mission services.
Now, as a Board Member of Goodwill Industries, I proudly serve to continue to enhance and and expand the mission services provided to deserving individuals.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
could add hundreds of jobs, provide more opportunities for affordable housing and expand its mission delivery both locally and nationally.
