Church of Mary Magdalene
December 16, 2009
I had the wonderful opportunity to donate many household items to the Church of Mary Magdalene. Everyone I encountered was very appreciative and accomodating.
A few months later I received a personal note from a woman who benefited from my donations. To be honest it was one of the highlights of my year. I'm not kidding. It made me cry. I look around at all I have and even though by some standards it is not a lot it's plenty for me. The idea that I had a direct hand in how someone got back on their feet after many years of being homeless is priceless.
The people at Mary Magdalene were so happy to be receiving these needed items but really the happiness I felt after that note was hundred fold.
So although you are asking for constructive criticism I have none to give. I'm just grateful for your organization in that it allows me to "DO" something for others.
The only possible thing I might suggest is that you make it easier to find you on the web in that you make it clear that you accept items and donations to help women specifically and their families. I found it hard to find an organization in the area that does so. And that where you drop of donations is not where the church is. Maybe some word optimization might help.
