I lived in Israel for five months as an exchange professor at Haifa University. In that time I became aware of the social problems that have been largely ignored by the government, no matter which party is in power. NIF has
targeted these problems deliberately, with great energy and with increasing success. For that reason I gave to
NIF one tenth of my wealth, not much, but as a sign of my faith in its mission and my support for its methods.
To my knowledge, no other non-profit does as much to create a just and free society in Israel.
