My experience with Deepalaya has been as an Academic researching and teaching in the area of Human Rights Academician. Of the many NGO’s that I’ve interacted with, Deepalaya’s focus- girl child, street child and disabled child is in itself remarkable and unique. The Disabled or the differently abled child is the niche area of Deepalaya and has been dealt with understanding and compassion towards capacity building and empowerment. The latter is the constructive sustainable dimension of the work as it’s subtext says “Enabling Self Reliance” and needs to be endorsed by the larger community in any which way possible.

I had more time to give the organisation. But I would like to remedy that and start by sending Masters Human Rights students as Interns to learn and be part of a great cause.

It is VERY heartening indeed looking at the nature of work and dedication of Deepalaya. It reaffirms one’s faith in humanity.

MY ROLE:
Professional with expertise in this field & Got the director of Deepalaya to make presentation for the Participants of the Refresher Couse and Seminars to create awareness amongst the Academic Community. The idea was to mainsteam the cause, ofter not part of the focus area of Human rights.
