Metropolitan New York Coordinating Council on Jewish Poverty
October 23, 2009
I worked at met council as an intern this past summer june-july 2009. I worked with the housing director Temima Dublin. I learned a huge amount about affordable housing especially in one of the most expensive cities in the world. I was also able to visit two of their housing sites for mentally ill and homeless individuals. I think what they do at met council is extremely inspiring and has encouraged me to find ways to help out in my community in similar ways at Cornell University.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The best part has been actually seeing the results of their projects. Being able to visit residents in their new housing and seeing how much it has changed their lives.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Incredibly friendly, professional, and committed to met council.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
