I am a Disabled Patient with Lou Gehrig's Disease, Spinal Cord Patient with these other documented & Diagnosed illnesses as well: Neuropathy, Cervical Radiculopathy, Lumbosacral Radiculopathy, Nerve Damage, 2 Pinched Sciatic Nerves, Spondylytic Bone Spurs on every Level of the Spine (C, T, & L), Degenerative Joint Disease, Lhermitte's Sign/Phenomenon, Bilateral Hoffmann's, Bilateral Up-Going Toes, Chronic Pain Syndrome, Spasticity, & other illnesses. I need help with a few things. It's kind of hard to explain my situation. Me & My Mom live with my Grandmother, my Dad Committed Suicide when I was 10 yrs old & we were there but couldn't stop him from shooting himself so he's not in the picture physically, my Grandmother is 77 & my Mom will be 61 this year. I am blessed just to have a roof over my head, even though that roof needs replacing badly & the house isn't ours it belong's to my Grandmother but when something happens to her we will have to go somewhere so the house can be sold & split 4 ways. The house won't sell for much I'm afraid considering it needs a new roof, about 20 windows need replacing, & the electrical wiring is really old. Anyway, I need someone's help putting together either a fund-raiser or an organization(or both) so I can get a Handicapped Equipped Van so I can be more mobile, independent, get back & forth to the Dr's, picking up medications, hopefully go back to college if I can, but most of all I want to start an organization but don't know how & I would need help with it anyway including appointing Board Members to help with certain things. But I want this organization to start after I get my van so I can travel to the meetings, talk with businesses/corporations for tax deductible donations & support so that other's can get a Handicapped Accessible Vehicle as well. By doing this we can enable the disabled to live life to the fullest & have a fulfilled life. Some can possibly go back to work, college, &/or help their community plus get more involved with their community. This could start a chain-reaction here & the organization become very large, with high hopes of it spreading throughout each community in the country. Unless you are handicapped & have to stay home everyday looking at nothing but 4 walls, a t.v., &/or a computer then you don't have any idea just how much you miss out on in life, some people become suicidal because of this & see no reason to live however, it pushes me to want to find people out there who will help, I know there are people that can help but will they? Will they step up & change a life or save a life? Some people needing this type of vehicle can even possibly go from living off of the system entirely to being able to put back in to the system so our resources aren't completely drained on SSI & Disability. My mom, like I said will be 61 this year, & she is already having a hard time lifting my wheelchair in/out of the trunk plus it's hard on me to have to transfer in/out of the car. I have many ideas that will get these fund-raiser's off the ground big time but I need help with some things. If anyone out there is willing to help me, please contact me at my email which is: joeysardis256@gmail.com & I will let you know more & give you my phone number so we can talk about it. Thank You so much for your time & concern. I will post new info again later so keep an eye out for me. I am sick right now with a cold that has caused an infection in my eye plus my neck is hurting real bad right now because of the way I'm laying down so I will go & I hope someone out there in the public & within the Advocacy can help in some way. Thank You Very Much.
Sincerely,
Joey Jacobs
