I came to Community Improvement Organization because it was an assigned volunteer project for one of my college courses, At first I thought "What a drag! having to spend my free time in some office doing something pointless" but I was in for a surprise. The C.I.O. is a great organization, nothing I did while I was here ever felt pointless. The organization leader Iris always kept me busy with different tasks that ALWAYS involved doing something helpful for an unfortunate individual. The C.I.O. truly proved to me that non profit organizations really do make a difference in our community and set a great example for their volunteers, from simple tasks like making thanksgiving baskets for those less fortunate to completely renovating a home for a lonely elderly woman. All in all the Community Improvement Organization is nothing short of life changing, I applaud The C.I.O. and its leader Iris for all the great improvements it provides for our community.
