I became aware of and involved with Mayan Families as a part of a trip to Guatemala in October/November 2012. This charity has the focus, dedication and intellectual resources to bring about real change in the lives of Guatemalans. The leadership has courage and vision and are culturally aware and sensitive. Monies donated to the charity can be specifically allocated to individuals, families and or projects and evidence of appropriate stewardship of the resources donated is very evident. I am proud and happy to be a sponsor of a child for this organization. I will return in 2013 in hopes of offering additional service to this great organization.
