Suffolk County Veteran Halfway House is helping homeless Veterans with temporary housing, food and teaching them skills. I have been volunteering for about a year teaching the men to cook and help them with other skills that will help them when they can get out on their own. These men have sacrificed to give us our freedom and come back from service to no jobs or housing. They have been taught skills that are for military service but will not help them when they return home. This organization assists these men in learning new skills that will help them in looking for jobs. I have hooked into partnering with Bed, Bath and Beyond. They have been supplying us with pillows, blankets, etc. things these men need now and when they leave the temporary housing they will take those things with them. I am so honored to be working with them, they deserve only the best things in life for the incredible sacrifices they have made to keep us free.
