CORD USA
November 15, 2012

As an economist I believe that the true source of development is empowerment. Not recognizing it and giving funds to those in power was the major error in international aid in the post-War years. Economic growth in the long run occurs only when society breaks the chains that were holding it back. I had the fortune of growing up in India when a shift in power from the upper cast to all Hindus, from landlords to tenants and from a few industrialist to many occurred. I support CORD as it empowers those who are caught in a social trap.
