YES Prep was the fortunate and grateful recipient of a grant that allowed us to bring a Hope Stone dance teacher to our middle school campus for a series of eight master classes. Students were selected based on their indicated interest in dance, and they participated in the weekly workshops with Roberta, a professional dancer. Her positive spirit and patience helped some of the less-confident students blossom and made all feel comfortable expressing themselves through movement. She and Hope Stone's CEO (Jane) were proactive troubleshooters who wanted to make sure all students had a meaningful experience -- even those who were reluctant at first. I appreciate this opportunity, and I hope our paths cross again.
