Neighborhhod Ministries shows Christ's love by partnering with others to build relationships that create safe, supportive and empowered communities one person at a time. Now as we prepare to celebrate our 100th Anniversary we can highlight all the success stories while reaching more people who need our services. We provide the basics of food and clothing but more than that we teach and enable individuals and families to be self sufficient. The need may be a meal for a child afterschool or during the summer when school is out. Maybe it is financial, spiritual or life skills counseling, transportation to a job interview, afterschool tutoring, free school supplies or health screenings. As a board member it has been my privilege to volunteer to help raise needed funds, to publicize the work of Neighborhood Ministries and to support the staff and other volunteers. By the way, the turnover in staff is minimal. They stay because this is more than a job, it is a ministry.
