When I first learned about Project Mexico I was a high school graduate volunteer in 1994. I helped build a home for a family over the course of one week. The experience was unlike anything I have experienced. In 1999 I returned to help build another home. In the short time I had been away the staff had starting welcoming boys into the orphanage. It was great to see the transformation in their facilities and to see the joy in the faces of these young boys that had been accepted into the orphanage. It is an amazing program where the boys experience family, community, workmanship and are provided with an education, valuable life experiences and shelter. Now that I have my own family, I have not returned to help with the home building efforts but try to send monetary gifts yearly. One year I was able to buy Spanish books for the boys for Christmas. It is a pleasure to be able to give back to a great organization and be able to touch the individual lives of the boys as a yearly donor.
