Kids for Peace gives children the opportunity to reach out to others in need. It is humbling to see young people coming together to make a difference, not only in our community, but in our world. These children are dedicated to proclaiming the importance of kindness. The Great Kindness Challenge is an event I took part in this summer. Several kids from the community gathered in Encinitas, California, to take on 50 kindness tasks. Some of the tasks included, taking cookies to firemen/life guards/police officers, saying hello to homeless people, picking up trash at a park, reading to young children, etc. Not only was I able to interact with people of the community, but also a member of Kids for Peace who was visiting from Kenya, Africa. It was inspiring to see how just a simple smile could make someone's day brighter. This organization has exemplified leadership skills through their incredible commitment to making a difference!
