I volunteered last summer helping tutor children in reading and assisting with the children's cooking classes. It was challenging in some ways for me to understand and fit into the realities of that community, but tremendously rewarding. Now that I have a better sense of the people and physical situation at APC, I look forward to continuing to introduce children to new skills and ideas, and will probably expand the activities I'll be involved in with residents and staff.
