The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is a wonderful partner for businesses in Lee County who wish to contribute to the improvement of the School system in Lee County. They provide numerous programs which allows us to have in impact on the teachers and Students in Lee County Schools.

I've participated in the Career Day program, showing students how they can pursue a career in Engineering and/or Construction. I've also spent two days with HS Students in the pre-engineering program exploring how Science, Technology, Engineeering and Math work together to allow Engineers and Scientist to make our world a better place.

The Golden Apple teacher recognition program is the most visible program run by the Foundation, but they also have many other programs such as Carson Scholarships, Dancing Classrooms, Take Stock in Children Scholarships, Classroom Grants, STEM Education, Career Days, etc. I would like to see the media give more attention to these other wonderful programs.
