I jumped at the chance to be part of this organization as soon as I discovered it, and it has far exceeded my expectations. There is no other organization that does what Girls Write Now does: creates a community based on a shared love of writing between established, adult women and teenage girls who don't have many other outlets. In my years as a mentor, I've watched girls blossom as a result of the professional yet candid and friendly relationships we form; & I've seen girls produce creative works that rival many published pieces. Girls Write Now started as a brilliant, one-of-a-kind idea, and it's been executed so well it's now a part of the fabric of New York City.
