COOKIES FOR KIDS CANCER
June 6, 2011
My daughter, diagnosed at a young age with cancer, and cancer free since then, inspired me to want to do something to give back. I wanted to do something to make a difference. I started doing research, and learned of Cookies for Kids Cancer! I loved the story and the inspiration of CFKC....and what a great, realistic way to raise money for an incredible necessary cause. Early 2010, when I was organizing my first bake sale, they were so helpful and supportive and supplied the necessary advice and supplies for a successful bake sale. My first bake sale fundraiser was last year, and raised over $3,000! I completed my second one in May, in honor of Liam, and raised over $1600! I feel so great being part of an organization that helps get family, friends, children and neighbors, businesses, involved that want to give back as well.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
many ways. A couple are 1) Inspiration for my children and family to make a difference with not much effort . 2) Feeling fulfilled that I did something for children still fighting.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Have a couple of extra contact individuals to be able to work a little of the time spreading the word about Cookies for Kids Cancer.. Other than that, very well organized and just LOVE them.
Volunteer & I organized 2 sucessful fundraiser bake sales for Cookies for Kids Cancer, raised awareness, made a difference, and inspired others to do the same. .
