I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
- Going from a teenage volunteer learning how to feed/clean/handle/care for exotic animals at their facility, to becoming a professional working with exotic animals/marine mammals. - Seeing firsthand how many lives they saved by rescuing these abanoned animals and providing them with a quality life as long as they will live. - Seeing how many future lives they likely save by inspiring and educating the park's visitors on why these animals shouldn't be pets and why we need to help conserve these species.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Would you volunteer for this group again?
For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?
Did the organization use your time wisely?
Would you recommend this group to a friend?
Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Keepers of the Wild taught me more than simply how to provide the best quaity animal care for the species housed at their facility. They had a life-lasting impact on me that fueled my passion for working with wild animals and teaching people about them. These animals are ambassadors for their wild counter parts and are invaluable in making people aware about the horrific exotic pet industry and educating the public about wildlife conservation in general.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
My volunteer experience here made me sore, dirty and exhausted due to the hard work invloved in caring for hundreds of exotic animals; but all of that was well worth it, because most importantly, the experience made me feel proud, honored and like I was truly giving back to something great, both by caring directly for their amazing animals in need, and by educating the public on tours about the threats to these species.
