Mission: The Jericho House is a lighthouse for men with addictions and little hope that their lives will ever change. Many have experienced sobriety at some point in their lives, but have found it so painful they couldn't stand it. This means there are some things within us that only God can heal. These are God-sized problems which requires obedience in order for God to fully work in a man's life. These are things from which they need to be set free.
Geographic areas served: United States of America
Programs: 4 phase i year long regeneration program that has been time tested for 50 years.

I love how this program is helping my husband over come his addictions spirtually, mentally and physically.

BUT I do not appreciate how its been eight months and wont allow him to have anything to do with his wife. We are unable to work on our family and marriage even when the program directly says thats part of what they do. It appears that they are trying to encourage us to get a divorce. Especially when the director of the program has gone as far as talking poorly about me to my husband and even in front of the other guys.

I've also been upset how in six months he was only allowed to talk to his 4 year old daughter twice and in the seventh month my daughter was begging for her dad so much I had to call the program and talk to a head counselor about her disstress. It was only then that he was allowed to start calling her. I appreciate Rick for making that happen. My daughter is exstatic when he calls and even though he is forbidden to talk to me I'm still greatful that he can finally talk to her.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I think all the guys should have the same rules and families should not have to go through any prejudice opinions just because of their unique situations. All the families should be allowed the same form of help regardless of any personal opinions of the counselors.

Crystal, I am so sorry that you are hurting. I know there are things that are hard for you to understand. Your husband has permission to call your daughter every week. If he has chosen not to then I will talk to him. We are praying for you and know that all will work out in the end. YOur husband is doing better then he ever has and I know that means alot to you. Hang in there. And I will tell you this, I have discussed you because your husband brought things up in a therapeutic group meeting. Sometimes when you are coming out of denial you hear what you want to hear. I do not dislike you at all. I have prayed for you and will continue to do so. Hang in there. PS you and your husband have the cutest kid. She should be in the movies :-)

I have been a part of TJH since the beginning. It is such an amazing place that God truly has His hand on. I have had the privilege to watch men come into the program totally broken and discouraged and then God shining light into the darkness of their lives in total transformation.

The Jericho House is a place that does not preach religion but teaches a lifestyle full of the richness and freedom that can only be found through a life walking with God.

If you are looking for a fix for the things that are going on with you then you need to go somewhere else but if you are looking for TRUE FREEDOM The Jericho House is the right place for you!!!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have gone through a program that is based on the same teaching. Larry McKenna was the Director for that program years ago. I have been waking this life of freedom for 10+ years now

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would want to find a way that we could fit more guys because there are a lot of men out there hurting.

Love all the comments and also saddens me as the founder of the Jericho House that we cannot please everyone. As with all non-profits reaching out to wounded people you step on toes and even offend people. It has been a tough journey for me and my family these past two years. We have gained more friends then we could ever hope for. Adding Rick as program director has brought the program up to a much more professional level and our number one priority is help the men overcome a life controlling problem called addiction. If the men who had a negative experience at The Jericho House are clean and sober, then I rejoice. Don't need their approval nor will take offense at their perception of me. It is not about me it is about raising up many programs to reach out to families who need answers. No business or organization starts out perfect, and we are still far from perfect. But lives are being changed for ever. I would rather have someone come to the Jericho House and leave disliking me and free from their addiction than to leave loving me yet continuing their destructive path and old lifestyle. Jericho House now has many faithful partners where as in days past it was a lonely venture. To all and everyone I am grateful, but most of all I am grateful to God who rescued me 19+ years ago and has allowed me to do what I was put here on earth to do. I hope we all find purpose and meaning to our existence. God Bless, Larry McKenna
