Mission:
Rare''s mission is to protect wildlands of globally significant biological diversity by enabling local people to benefit from their preservation. Working with local organizations around the world, our projects seek to: build grass-roots support for conservation; promote family planning and conservation through locally produced media; train rural people to be skilled, English-speaking nature tour guides; and develop income-producing nature trails and ecotourism initiatives that benefit local economies and the environment.

I was an intern last summer. I am fortunate to have seen such a progressive non profit organization that also invests greatly in their people and their development.
