Mission: Founded in 1982, the National Coalition for the Homeless has become a leader in the struggle against poverty. We are the oldest and best-established national organization providing technical assistance and support to homeless-led groups on the grassroots level. Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness while ensuring that the immediate needs of those experiencing homelessness are met and their civil rights are protected.

NCH does an amazing job of both educating the public on housing issues and fighting for those more fair treatment of those living in poverty. Staff members are passionate about their work and completely committed to helping whenever possible. NCH also makes a concerted effort to connect and collaborate with other organizations in DC and across the country.

This organization has helped me to understand the intricacies of extreme poverty in this country and helped me to believe that we can see an end to homelessness as we know it. The collaborative spirit and passion for the issue are palpable and inspire me to do more.
