Paws is a great organization. I'm so happy our paths crossed and I am forever grateful for them because we adopted our amazing puppy "mia" who we changed her name to cannoli from them. Paws is very professional and take what they do very seriously and at the same time I felt like I knew them right after meeting with the women. Carole set up the two meetings we had and both were a success. Not only did they make sure my fiancé and i were the right parents for her but they also made sure our dogs and cannoli would be happy together. I really appreciated all the time and advice they gave me. I'm so happy to have dealt with them it was very easy going and enjoyable. I tell everyone about them and I would so recommend PAWS to any one looking for a dog or cat!

I have had friends use this group and they are absolutely terrific. My friends both were in tough situations and this PAWS Montclair really came through for them. They are very organized and a pleasure to work with!

When my aunt passed away, I spent a couple of months trying to find a new home for Winslow, her lab mix. After absolutely no prospects, a friend put me in touch with PAWS Montclair. Within a few days, I had two people interested and within the next few weeks a couple more. After meeting a few people, Winslow has since found his new forever home. PAWS Montclair was there every step of the way offering guidance and support for every. They were extremely helpful and I cannot say enough to thank them.

My cat and friend of ten years, Kelly died about two years ago. After about a year I decided it might be time to adopt again. A friend sensed that and slipped me a newsclipping about a two-year old recent mother of four kittens, all of whom had been adopted. She, however, was still staying with a foster family. PAWS of Montclair had put the announcement in a local paper. I called and went to see her the next day in the pouring rain. she was adorable and a little shy, a little vulnerable I adopted her on-the-spot. We've been great friends ever since. My best image of her is that ... whenever I see her she runs to my bay window to be rubbed in the sunlight. Delightful! Many thanks to PAWS for giving her to me.

I work for the Bergen County Cooperative Library System. During the summer of 2010 we posted a list of dog titles on BCCLSVisor, our online readers’ advisory tool.
Because my daughter is associated with PAWS of Montclair, as a volunteer and foster mom, we added an interesting touch to our list. For each title mentioned we linked the book title to a photo of a dog that was up for adoption in New Jersey. This list received the most hits of any of our readers’ advisory lists. Each time a dog got adopted during this two-month period our webmaster placed an ‘adopted’ banner across the dog’s photo.
There was a lot of excitement and it caused our staff and public to repeatedly go back to our list for an update on the adoptions.
This project and its enhancements was thanks to PAWS of Montclair ‘s website.

When my daughter & I decided our 2 year old rescue dog Lola needed a friend, we searched local adoption shelters and visited the PAWS website regularly until the day we spotted Creme Brulee. Since there was a planned adoption day at a local Petco, we went to meet Creme and the other pets. I was immediately struck by the friendly, helpful volunteers and their obvious love of the animals they were so hoping to place in loving homes. We arranged for a home visit to see if Creme would mix well with Lola. First meeting didn't exactly go well, but our volunteers were undeterred. Second visit - better, but not great. Third visit - better, making progress. Their knowledge, determination, and perseverance was limitless, and on the fourth visit, Creme stayed with us. We now have 2 wonderful dogs who have meshed beautifully, but without the hard work and concern from the PAWS volunteers, the story could have ended sadly. They never gave up, they never complained, they KNEW they could make this happen. Creme (now renamed "Roux') is possibly the sweetest dog I've ever owned and in a matter of 3 months, she and Lola are best buddies. I can't say enough about this wonderful collection of animal lovers and have recommended them over and over. Their kind compassion is something I will never, ever forget and they are so deserving of every accolade they receive!

We adopted our American Staffordshire mix pup from this non-profit animal shelter group. The group is filled with amazing people that care for animals. I'm so glad I found them on Petfinder.com. Our dog Lacie is an angel and we wouldn't trade her for the world.

This past year, I had the opportunity to foster a mother cat and her five kittens, which PAWS saved from the streets of Essex county. PAWS provided medical care and food for the cats. Once the kittens were weaned, PAWS found permanent homes for the mom and all of her kittens with loving and fully vetted families. I am amazed by the time PAWS volunteers give to the organization, helping cats and dogs in so many different ways.
