Working as an itinerant teacher of deaf children learning to listen and speak in the public schools, I saw numerous families struggle to be advocates for their children. I saw parents struggle with policy and law. The parent advocates at Beginnings were always prepared to play a big role in educating those parents and giving them the tools they need to provide the best education possible for their children. The Beginnings website is also an amazing educational resource available for families and professionals about the topic of hearing loss and all communication options.
I have worked closely with the Parent Educators from Beginnings for several years. They are always responsive in helping me meet a families needs in understanding their child's hearing loss, the importance of appropriate audiological assessment, and in helping transition a child to services once he/she leaves my program. The written and video/DVD information they provide to families is excellent in helping families understand hearing loss and communication options.

Beginnings does a wonderful job of helping families understand hearing loss, communication options, and the process of transitioning to the school system at age three. We are lucky to have such a great resource as Beginnings!
