My mom who has late stage Alzheimer’s moved to Angela Hospice from a memory care facility that was no longer able to safely and appropriately care for her increasing needs.
The move has been such a relief and blessing for not only mom, but to our entire family. We’ve been able to let go of the worries we always had, and to just be focused on being present for our mom during her final days on earth.
The exceptional and professional care that each and every staff person has provided is top notch! From the greeters at the front door, nursing aids, nurses, social workers, music therapist, the kitchen staff, and even the volunteers, everyone works together for the same goal of providing the highest quality care in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Some other notable extras are, visits by therapy dogs, caregiver dinners hosted by volunteers on Wednesday nights, and frequent piano players near the main lobby, where visitors can help themselves to fresh cookies, coffee, tea and fruit flavored water. Thank you, and God bless you all!
You have been an answer to our prayers!
February 19- June 24, 2024 Angela Hospice is truly more than one could ever hope for. The love & care we received is beyond measure. They care with a personal touch for their patient as well as the family as they go through the process of losing their loved ones. Going above & beyond each & every day !!! From the kitchen staff, maintenance, housekeeping, volunteers, psychologists, administrators, nurses & aides they all care with such dignity & respect for the process. B~wing you will forever be in our hearts. Thank you for loving our Mom, for the precious moments you take every single day to let your patients know they are safe, they are important & they are loved. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️ ❤️ Love always, Miss Jeri B122 & her very large family XOXOX
What a blessing this organization is. My mother did jot have the financial capacity to pay because all her money was exhausted from skilled nursing. Angela Hospice took care of my dear mother anyway and gave her love and caring services. She went yo Heavrn loved and in PEACE.
I couldn't have asked for Better care for my dad at the end of life. Staff is Kind, Caring and Compassionate.
Angela Hospice has the most compassionate and loving people. The journey to the end of life with the staff is comforting, and you never feel alone.
"unbeknownst to be I found a place where the Holy Spirit lives and shows his face every day".Angela Hospice in Livonia Mi. is that place. You will not find a better facility for end of life care........PERIOD!!!! DENNIS BOSTWICK
I experience this awesome organization from both sides of the spectrum. I have been honored to be an employee as well as honored to have had many family and friends cared for both by home care and in the in patient care center. Top notch every interaction with every situation the level of compassion, thoughtfulness, and empathy was outstanding!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this amazing team and for having the amazing support of the team while on the receiving end. God Bless!!
My mother was 85 and stoic when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She claimed not to be in much pain. We began our journey with Angela Hospice with a home visiting RN. The medical kit she left with us was invaluable in managing mum’s daily comfort. When it became time to get more nursing care mom moved in to the residential facility. Although she was only there for for 4 days before she passed away, our family had a very special stress free time with her. She was comfortable and calm and so were we. I cannot speak highly enough about the facility, the care and the compassion. Thank you

My mom was diagnosed with late stage terminal cancer on June 25th. We were referred to Angela Hospice home services. Our nurse came to see us that afternoon. The compassionate care and education provided was amazing. Only 2 weeks later mom was offered a bed at the hospice. It was there that we said all our goodbyes to her. She passed a week later. It was a wonderful experience at a very sad time for us.
Angela Hospice is wonderful. Their compassionate care helped my family navigate the devastating loss of my husband. Our care team made my husband’s final journey a gentle, loving experience for him and me. God bless Angela Hospice. ❤️
My grandmother Betty White volunteered here for many years as a night call liaison, when her time was near she went into care facility and the experience could not have been more meaningful, the staff made us all welcome and helped the transition in a way I couldn’t have imagined. Forward 8yrs and my mother entered care facility by her choosing and again they were tremendous in their compassionate care. I am forever grateful. Bless you all
It’s the best ending I could have hoped for if I had to lose my Mom. Angela Hospice was
Like home for us during mom’s 2 weeks there. The level of care and compassion is unparalleled and we felt like we were always surrounded by family. Everyone we encountered there had a special heart. The basics like food and accommodations were top notch. Mom thought she was staying in a fancy hotel. No regrets about this being mom’s last home before her final resting place.
My Mother spent her last months at Angela Hospice Care Center. She received the best care. The “Angels in B Wing”, were so kind and gentle with her. They were always there too for the family, in case we had any questions. We are so grateful that she was able to live out her final days in such a peaceful setting. I highly recommend Angela Hospice.
I began volunteering in the care center in spring of 2018. I was 17 at the time, and I was preparing for a career in nursing. Looking to get some hands-on patient care experience, I dove head first into caring for those who are in their final days. Since then, I have gone onto nursing school, and I am about to graduate in May. I work in a hospital, and I have had several clinical rotations as a part of my nursing program. With that, I have seen many patients, and worked with many nurses. When I say that Angela Hospice provides a special kind of care, I mean it from the deepest depths of my heart. I have yet to see such amazing care anywhere else. The whole team goes above and beyond to ensure that patients and families are taken care of in the best way possible, mind, body, and spirit. I have never witnessed nurses and caregivers so dedicated to their patients and to their wishes and comfort. So much so, that I must admit it was an incredible shock working at a hospital, because no other place can match the level of care and concern for patients like Angela Hospice. To this day, I strive to model the amazing Angela CNAs and Nurses that taught me everything I know about bedside manner and holistic patient care. I feel beyond fortunate to have had them as my first example in nursing, as I am now able to take what they have shown me and incorporate it into caring for my ICU patients. I would want Angela Hospice to take care of myself, as well as anyone and everyone that I love most!!!!

Not only did Angela Hospice take care of my Grandma in 2010, but they have helped me grow to be a loving, compassionate caregiver. I love my hospice family, and I will be forever grateful for all that they have done to impact my life!
My mom was born in the arms of an Angela and she went on to pass under the care of Angela Hospice in July 2003. I was so impressed with the quality of care she received during her time in the Care Center that I decided to become a volunteer, which I've done since 2005, and am a life-long supporter of Angela Hospice.
I thought hospice was something completely different from what it was at Angela Hospice, a place full of love and care and compassion for others.
As someone who has volunteered and worked at Angela Hospice, their excellent reputation is not only well-earned but true. Every member of the staff is kind and compassionate, and when you see them work with patients and their loved ones, it becomes quickly apparent that they all have the hospice heart.
This was clearly a calling for those who work at Angela Hospice, and we're lucky to have them serving our community.
I am a committed and life-long donor! The front line care staff is exceptional, but what makes Angela Hospice is so special is the ENTIRE staff. From your first interface with the receptionist at the front door to the staff in the philanthropy department where donations are processed, everyone is pleasant, helpful and appreciative.
Angela Hospice staff are all so caring and compassionate. They go above and beyond to make you feel seen, heard and loved. Hospice staff do God's work on earth!
I speak with families that have had Angela Hospice care for a loved one on a regular basis. I also have been one of those family members. We all say we wouldn't know what we would have done without the kind, loving care given to our loved ones and to us. Angela not only cares for the patient, they care for those left behind.
Angela Hospice is a wonderful place to work and volunteer. I have grown so much as a clinician and a human being through my ten years at the organization. To know I am making a difference in the lives of others by working for this organization is a humbling feeling.
I have the privilege to work at Angela Hospice but I have also had the blessing of using the care center for both of my parents. And what is the saddest and most difficult time, the team helps navigate the loss with such compassion, dignity and grace. I had so many special moments with my parents and family while they were in the care of Angela Hospice. The nurses, aides, actually everyone....is a true angel and they are doing God's work.

I have the privilege of not only working here, but had a wonderful experience as my own mom was in our care. The people that work here are Angels on earth. While it is hard to have family in end of life care, my cousin, uncle and many friends have come to Angela Hospice as well. I cannot say enough wonderful things....it is the hardest time you can go through but dying with peace, dignity and the care that they give eases the burden. Thank you for the work that you do!
This was such a horrible experience here with my moms end of life care. The nurses all went into report and no one was at the desk to cover in case of emergency’s. My daughter and myself were trying to calm my mom down when she woke up in pain and was asking for help. Rose the nurse aid was very unprofessional when she told my daughter who was asking for help in the hallway that she was busy with another patient and she walked away. Rose did not care that my mom was in in distress she walked away and had no regard for our emergency. Carrie was my moms nurse and she was neglectful and had a poor attitude when she finally came out of report 25 minutes later to help my mom who by this time was very upset and moaning for help. She had no regard for her suffering and the fact that my daughter and I was very upset by what just happened. Crystal was her nurse a few times and all she did was push for my mother to get a foley just to make her life better because my mom would push the button a lot and they would get annoyed because she had to get up. They hire nurses that should not be dealing wIth people who are in the last stages of their life and their families. This is not the place to take your loved one for their final stay! Lack of compassion! They always gave a hard time letting you in and would make you stand in the hot hallway until they let you in! Please don’t take your loved one here, find a facility that really cares about people at the end of their life, this is not the place!
My Mother's ovarian cancer diagnosis came like a thief in the night. We lost her only 30 days after diagnosis. Angela's staff and volunteers gave us the best care, tending to all aspects of our needs as a family. They gave my Mother, as well as our family, comfort, compassion, spiritual support and dignity at a time it was desperately needed. We could not be more grateful for the level of care provided, for the beautiful home-like facility and for the giant hearts of those who tended to Mom's every need as it arose most times before we even asked. Further, for the regular and heartfelt attention to our needs as we grieve her sudden, difficult loss. I would go nowhere else in the future should this need arise again. Their facility is unmatched by any other I have seen in every aspect. We were able to focus on Mom because all aspects of care and business matters were thoroughly managed. We will be forever grateful to them.
Angela Hospice took care of my sister Mary during her final days in August and September of 2020. Mary was 64 and had Down Syndrome and Alzheimers. The care that the staff provided was second to none! I will be forever grateful that they allowed her to die with dignity.
Angela offers quality caring educational and free grief support to Anyone in the community, whether or not your loved one was with Angela. Small group meetings facilitated by a social worker and 1:1 counselling have been invaluable to me.
I have been a volunteer at Angela Hospice for many years and have met so many truly caring people that work there. I am honored to be a volunteer. They truly care about their patients they go above and beyond. I have also been a client served. My mom was taken care of by Angela, first at home and then in the facility. As sad as it was I was so happy that Angela was there taking care of her and all of us. I currently have home hospice from Angela for my husband. I am now really experiencing it first hand. Everyone that has come out is beyond amazing, caring and professional. From the aides that comes to help with him, the nurses that come out to the check on him, the social worker that comes to see how I am doing, and calls in between visits to see how I am. I can call Angela anytime and they are there. They are truly amazing.
I can’t say enough about the caring loving care Angela Hospice gave to my husband all the way to the end of his life. The special things they did for my family…a memorial service, Arbor Day ceremony and they continue with the Walk of Remembrance every year that helps us in the healing process. I will always be grateful.
Angela Hospice is a true blessing for so many. The kind and dedicated staff provided compassionate and loving end of life care for my mom in a way that I could not have done on my own. I, too, for cared for and am eternally grateful. The outreach and kindness continues with grief counseling and so many opportunities & resources for help and continued support.
The care my mother received in her final days could not have been better. They care for the patient and the wider family and ensure everyone's comfort every step of the way. Keep it up!
My husband had a brain tumor and was under Angela Hospice care for 16 months. I don't now what I would have done without them. They provided us with a hospital bed, a commode, a lift chair and an actual lift to move him from one spot to another when he could no longer move himself. A fabulous health care aide came twice a week to help him bath and to give me time to go shopping and run errands. We had a wonderful nurse as well. I owe them both so much.
A few years later both my mother and father needed assistance from Angela Hospice. Everyone we worked with showed great care and support, not only for the ill person but for those of us who were caregivers as well. I would highly recommend Angela Hospice to anyone investigating or needing hospice care.
We had my dad at Angela Hospice in 1999 when he was at the end of having brain cancer. They were great and explained everything and even helped my children understand the process of dying!
Then we used Angela Hospice at home in 2015 for my fatherinlaw ...they were still as great and came to help us at 2 am during a michigan snow storm! I have not heard any negative things about them!! Love them!
My Mother was under their care. She received excellent, caring service. She was cared for there and at home. I highly recommend them for anyone needing hospice care.
The moment I walked into my fathers room at Angela Hospice for the first time, I knew he was in loving, caring hands. Dad was lying straight in bed, not slouched over or tangled in the bed linens. His clothing was clean and neat and not sliding down his arms or chest. He looked peaceful and comfortable. His room was clean and bright with no clutter of linens or care equipment in sight. Staff made me comfortable as well, and offered assistance for any thing I might need. My sister and brother were very impressed with the facility and staff, as was I. I would not hesitate to recommend Angela Hospice. So, thank you, everyone involved with, or had contact with my father during his stay. Your gentle, loving care was of great comfort during a most difficult time.
My daughter was a patient at Angela Hospice Center in Livonia, they were all angels from above. From the staff to the volunteers, housekeepers, everyone there were wonderful. They not only treated and showed my daughter love, respect and compassion they showed us the same thing. I will forever be grateful for Angela Hospice. My daughter Lisa Renee Mills passed away on May 11, 2018 and you all treated her like a queen while she was in your care and you made her last days of her life happy and for that I thank each and everyone of you.
Angela Hospice of Livonia was extremely wonderful!!!! All the nurses and aids and the 24/7 call line were so compassionate and loving. Jane was especially loving to me when I felt I wasn't doing enough. She reassured me what a good job I was doing and that helped me to keep going being a caregiver to my mother-in-law. I definitely recommend Angela Hospice to all who are taking care of their loved ones in the last days or weeks of their loved ones life. I can't say enough good about Angela Hospice Care! Thank you!!!
Five stars without a doubt. They took excellent care of my parents with So much dignity and respect. We were fortunate with my father To have so many of the services that they offer implemented into his last days. They are an amazing organization!
As a volunteer and former board member, I can attest that the leaders of Angela Hospice are true to their Felician core values, starting with respect and compassion for all they care for, their families as well as employees and volunteers. Can highly recommend for any who want to proactively manage this precious time of life.
My mother had terminally cancer and entered under the care of Angela Hospice. She said she felt like she had a blanket of love surrounding her. The doctors, nurses, aides, nuns, volunteers, and spiritual care all took care of her. The best program ever.

Angela Hospice was there to support our family when my parents passed away within three weeks of one another. The care and compassion they showed my parents as well as our entire family was amazing. Each and every person we encountered from the administration to the nurses to the volunteers embodied such humility and grace. What a wonderful organization!
Caring, talented professional staff provide excellent and compassionate care.
I have been associated with Angela Hospice for over 20 years as an employee and now as a volunteer in my retirement. I am always awed by the thoughtful care being provided and proud to be associated with such a fine organization.

When my mother needed hospice care, I turned to Angela Hospice. Her care both out patient and in facility was given with love for the patient and family. During her time under their care she was cherished. Every person was committed to caring for her and making her final days comfortable.
As a Livonia resident and business owner and one of their vendors for over 15 years, This organization is one of the best run facilities in the USA. I hear feedback from neighbors and acquaintances regarding how great Angela Hospice had treated their patients and the families in every stage of their service. I am truly proud to work with and share the same zip code with such a well run organization.

Angela Hospice has provided extraordinary care in my community for almost 35 years and I expected that they would continue to do so during the pandemic. While continuing to do so, they have also provided care to COVID19 patients at home and in a dedicated wing of the Care Center. They are offering virtual grief support groups. and video counseling. As always, they are reaching out to meet the changing needs of our community. Angela Hospice is a mission driven non-profit of the highest caliber.
Angela Hospice was a great help to us when my Mother was reaching the end of her earthly journey. For the first few weeks our needs were care in her home and the last days at the Angela Hospice location. The care was loving and professional, personal and caring. All of Mom's needs and our needs were met and exceeded.
I always had heard good things about Angela Hospice, but when Bob went there, they exceeded all my expectations. Not only did Nob have excellent care, but the family was provided for spiritually, emotionally, and physically as well. One member called it a kind of "pre heaven"
The staff are all truly angles
My mom was in assisted living and under hospice care from Angela Hospice for the last 4 months of her life. I can't express in words how caring and concerned all the hospice people were. From the volunteers who came to spend time visiting and conversing with Mom to the hard-working and sympathetic nurses who helped her and our family through some very trying times. So thankful that we had the wonderful people of Angela Hospice during the difficult days of transition. Would not hesitate to recommend these fine people to anyone in need of their expertise and gentle caring help.
Angela hospice helped my family get through the loss of my mother 8 years ago. It was the hardest thing I've ever gone through and I've had breast cancer twice. My mom Sandy was 64 when she passed off pancreatic cancer. She was at Angela hospice for 13 days. I'm still so grateful to the nurses, doctors, volunteers, front desk people and sister from the church that would look for my family everyday. You see we too stayed at Angela hospice for 13 days and nights not to take care of my mom but to be with her and sit by her side holding her hand. Angela hospice took care of everything not only for my mom but they actually cared about us too

My mom was at Angela hospice for 13 days in 2011. Angela hospice allowed me and my family to spend 24/7 with her. They took excellent care of her and we were able to just love her and be with her until the end.

Very professional and caring. Angela hospice is there supporting not only the client but also the clients family in our time of need. My sister and I could not have gotten through our mother's final weeks without Angela Hospice's support.

My sister and I called Angela Hospice when our mother's Ovariam cancer had progressed to the point where we knew her time was near. We called Angela hospice for a consultation at 4pm. The next day someone was out meeting us. Within hours of that meeting, they had my moms home set up with a bed and all things necessary to make my moms last weeks as comfortable as possible. Their compassion for our mother was very comforting to us as we knew she was in good hands. Upon her passing, which was at 10pm at night, we made one phone call to the hospice center, a nurse came out immediately and took care of all the other arrangements. Angela hospice made things a little easier for my sister and I as we were struggling with all the "what happens now" questions. With Angela hospice they explained everything that would happen in the last few weeks and helped us cope with it all. I will forever be grateful for them.
Angela Hospice and their angels were nothing short of a Godsend for our family. My Mom was able to pass with the dignity she wanted and deserved, in our home. There is no possible way I could have navigated her care and transition without Angela staff.
My mother passed away at Angela Hospice in 2008. She was there just briefly but said how wonderful everyone was. She loved the food and would talk about the birds outside her window. The staff were very supportive to me after her passing.
They were very caring and professional in my mom's last week at home. Grief support services after your loved one passes are exceptional.
My grandmother spent her last days in the exceptional care of Angela Hospice. I am forever grateful for the love, guidance and care given to my grandmother and family during this time. They definitely are the prototype for hospice care in the country. Thank you, Thank you, thank you!
My Mother was brought to Angela Hospice in her last hours after fighting a great battle with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. She was scared and agitated. The staff and nurses were so comforting to her and our entire family- I think we were there for approx 24 hours until she took her last breath. The compassion and support of Angela Hospice was a God send. When my mom was gone the nurses asked us to step out of the room for a minute so they could help her be 'presentable." They changed her night gown into a new one, brushed her hair and put a sweet flower in her hands - we were able to spend as much time as we needed before a phone call was made to the funeral home. I will cherish these last moments with my Mother and am so thankful that she was cared for by everyone at Angela Hospice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart - you are all special people - :)

Angela Hospice has a special place in my heart. They have provided much needed care and support for members of my family through the years. In 2003, my grandmother was able to spend her final days at home because of their care. In 2010, my grandfather was fortunate to receive at home care before being transferred to Angela Hospice as his health further declined. Then, in 2015, they were there for my family and for my own father when he passed away. They provided pain relief and basic care up until his passing. Angela Hospice gave my family the assistance that we needed to care for our loved ones in their final days. For that, we are truly grateful.
My mom and aunt were both in- home Angela hospice patients. They spent their final week in the Livonia facility . The support and nurturing that we all received was such a comfort and blessing. My daughter became a hospice social worker years later because of her experience with Angela.

I turned to Angela Hospice to handle the final few days that my wife had left on earth. I cannot say enough about the care and concern they exhibited to her condition and to me. The team was extremely supportive and made certain that Chris's passing was as peaceful and pain free as possible. I would recommend their services to anyone who had need of them.
There’s a difference between a for-profit and non-profit faith-based hospice. Angela takes their values including dignity and respect for their patients and families seriously!

I am privileged to serve on the Board of Angela Hospice. This organization puts patient care and their mission of providing compassionate, Christ-like care to all who need it as the top priority. Their facility is beyond compare: beautiful, state-of-the-art equipment and filled with compassionate and expert care givers. Many people do not understand how helpful hospice services are to the family of the loved one as well. My one message would be to contact Angela Hospice earlier rather than later to learn about all of the support that is available. Even if you do not use Angela's hospice services, you can take advantage of superior grief counseling after the loss of your loved one. Can't say enough good things about this organization.
Angela Hospice is the absolute best place to volunteer! Everyone is so kind & caring. It’s like heaven on earth!

My dad was blessed during his short stay at the Angela Hospice Care Center. The care that not only he, but the whole family received was wonderful. We lost our mom just a few weeks before he entered hospice and our grief was pretty raw. The kindness shown by everyone at Angela Hospice will never be forgotten.
My husband was placed on hospice, and this wonderful company helped prepare me for the end of his life. he was placed in the facility for some respite care for myself. They took wonderful care of him there and helped he get him home where he would spend his last days. The staff, the great volunteers, were always helpful. After he passed, I went through their grief counseling which gave me a safe place to let my feeling out. I couldn't have done this alone. They make you feel special and loved and just the genuine caring they emit is heartfelt. Thank you for all you do!

My husband had been ill for years, I was his primary care giver. as the years rolled on I was getting older and weaker too. Earlier in this year my husband was getting real bad, kidney and heart failure. The doctors told us it was time to put him in hospice. it was so sad. Late April he was placed at home with Angela hospice. The people that work here are the absolute best! They helped us both along the road to death. Nurses came by, social workers came over, the ministry came over. But the best was the volunteer named Dennis, since was husband was ill for so long most of his friends stopped coming by. Dennis provided companionship for him. My husband enjoyed his visits and talks. made him feel like a regular guy! Then when I had to have hand surgery, the social worker worked with us so he could go into respite care and I could take some days to myself. He was only in there five nights, I came every night except one. They cared for him like he was at home still. Bathed him, fed him his favorites foods, what he could or would eat.He was comfortable and well cared for. He was nearing the end of his life and we had arranged for him to go to a Tigers ball game one last time. Angela Hospice knew what we were planning and helped us keep the secret. They arranged for transportation to Tiger Stadium. they changed him in his Tiger clothes. and gave us(his family) all the necessary things to care for him that day, wheel chair, oxygen, cather and bag with a cover to be discreet. Our family surprised him there and we spent a wonderful day celebrating his life and his love of the Detroit Tigers. on Fathers Day! After the game transportation took us back to our home and helped get him in the house. Sad to say that was his last night/day alive as he passed away before dawn the next morning. I will never forget the help of such passionate people in my life! They helped arranged everything for us. I still am going to their grief counseling groups which gives me helpful things to do as I live my life without the love of my life. KUDOS to Angela Hospice! The staff is the best!!!!
The love and peace that flows within this environment during my grandfathers passing is the reason I volunteer there now! This place is truly a gift from god! ❤️
I was an employee at Angela Hospice and knew first hand what great care was provided to our patients. It was when I became the daughter of an Angela Hospice patient that truly drove home that point. Not only did our mom receive compassionate care, my siblings and I were equally the recipient of care and concern. We will be forever grateful.
Anglea Hospice was a tremendous help when my friend was dying from pancreatic cancer, both emotionally and physically. What a great group of people! Unfortunately(?), we are seeing how wonderful they are again as they help care for my brother who has glioblastoma. I would highly recommend them. They are a very special group of dedicated professionals.
Great care during my mother-in-law’s final three weeks. Allowed family to enjoy family time and not worry about her care. Friendly staff, great care, clean facilities. Highly recommend

Angela Hospice was there for us when our brother needed care. They provided care not only for him, but for us too. And, they still stay in contact with us.
Superb caring company. I would hope that anyone considering hospice care, whether in home or outside the home, contact these people.
Angela Hospice provided loving and exceptional care for both of my parents. With the help of their wonderful nurses and caregivers, both of my parents were able to remain at home in their final days. The emotional support that was extended to our family helped tremendously. The nurses took the time to sit with us, enjoy a cup of coffee and listen as we shared family stories and memories. They carefully explained the end of life process so we understood what was happening and what we could expect every step of the way. It is such a blessing to be able to look back on those profoundly difficult days with peace in my heart.
I experienced hospice care with 5 family members over a period of 14 months. Four of those were with Angela Hospice. I've worked with them in all settings. At another facility, at home, and at the Angela facility. They are truly angels. The staff is supportive and available 24/7 to answer questions or concerns. They provided comfort and care for my loved ones and also comfort and support for anyone in the extended family that wanted it. The best way I can communicate my support of what they do is to tell you that, if I ever find myself in the position of requiring hospice care, Angela Hospice is where I want to be. Thank you for all that you do.
My sister and I had our mother with Angela hospice. Except we did it at home. My sister and I took care of her, neither one of us nurses or in the medical field. We were very scared. Angela hospice was always there for us, coming to see us, taking phone calls in the middle of the night, or sending a nurse to the home in the middle of the night because we were panicked. They are professional, kind, caring and we were so blessed to have them help us to get our mother to the other side.

My Mother who passed from Stage IV Colon Cancer was an At Home patient of Angela Hospice. My sister and I took care of her. Angela Hospice far exceeded our expectations and the expectations of my family. They were there for us through every step of the process, including panicked 3am phone calls from my sister and I. They even sent nurses to the house in the middle of the night to help us if we could not handle a situation.
This organization is made up of the most compassionate people I have ever met. It is worthy of every cent that it receives from donations. We are so grateful to them for allowing us to deliver our Mother to heaven in peace and at home while we held her hand. I believe it is one of the greatest gifts we were ever able to give to her.
While not knowing how to handle my mother's choice to be on hospice back in 1997, I'm so very pleased to have helped her choose Angela Hospice. ...they are the best around.... very helpful,informative,kind,caring....they even had a home care aid out while we were out at our daughters graduation. ....
I have been receiving one-on-one grief counseling at Angela Hospice since July and could not be happier with the experience. Both individual and group therapy is available free of charge to members of the local community struggling with a loss. Their staff is compassionate and their facility is really lovely. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in Southeast Michigan. Thank you Angela Hospice!
7 years ago we welcomed Angela hospice into our home to help care for my father who was in the final stages of his life. The care and compassion that came from the wonderful staff is not something I will ever forget. They continue to communicate with my entire family to make sure there is nothing we need and continue to offer support.
My mother-in-law's health took a turn for the worse very unexpectedly. She had always said that if this situation arose, to please call Angela Hospice. The hospital she was admitted to is not one that is generally service by Angela, but they came anyhow. We were so appreciative!
They were so compassionate and patient with us, as we'd had no experience with hospice before. They talked us through everything, answered all our questions, and just gave us a sense of peace that we were not alone.
Fast forward several years and I trained to be a hospice volunteer. The compassion and caring I see in all the volunteers and staff is difficult to put into words. All I can say is that they always go over and above, caring not just for patients, but for their families as well.
I consider it an honor and a blessing to be involved, even in a small way, with Angela Hospice.
Whenever I think of Angela Hospice my heart swells with gratitude. In 2014 my mother was diagnosed with a rare, terminal brain disease known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). The symptoms of this disease include failing memory, behavioral changes, lack of coordination and hallucinations. Deterioration becomes more pronounced in the final stages of the disease and the patient suffers from involuntary movements and sometimes blindness. To see this disease destroy my mother and replace her with someone who became agitated from her violent hallucinations was more devastating and painful than words can describe. The disease is invariably fatal and the precious time we had left with my mother was difficult because she often did not know who we were. Because this disease is so rare, some medical professionals don't really know how to properly help the patient. When Angela Hospice took in my mother, they researched the disease to know how to best care for her and respect her dignity and worth in her last phase of life. To a stranger who only knew my mother as a person ravaged by CJD, it may be easy to just classify her as a difficult, agitated, and frightened patient. But Angela Hospice did not see or treat my mother as a disease. They saw her as a mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, etc. -
someone who was loved dearly and deserved to be as a comfortable and pain free as possible. The staff and nurses at Angela Hospice are angels here on earth. Always patient, kind, loving and supportive. They knew what we needed without us even asking. I will forever be grateful for Angela Hospice in helping us through a most painful and devastating ordeal.
Agency does not work closely with family. Does not communicate well with family or care givers. Will not adjust its business practice to modern communication methods. Would not provide any written schedule or names or care givers. Does not allow direct phone or text contact with nurses, you must go through call canter. Care provided is good but not as good as many other hospice providers.
I was referred to Angela Hospice by my doctor. I was grieving the loss of multiple people in my life. Through individual counseling and group support, I learned to find acceptance and peace. I did not have to worry how I would pay for this help because there was no cost to me. I am grateful for this caring and compassionate resource in our community.
I've used Angela Hospice twice, once in 1999 for my mother who suffered from early onset Alzheimer's disease and again in 2016 for my father who died of cancer. I couldn't possibly put in to words how caring, helpful & calming their team, both in the care center & home care, were on both occasions. They're very good at assessing a family's strengths and letting them do as much or little as they're comfortable with & filling in the rest. When my mom was in the care center in Livonia, Mi, Donna~a volunteer said "get some rest, I'll sit with her" when I said "I couldn't ask you to do that" Donna responded "it would be my privilege." Not that it's her job, but her privilege. All these years later that remark, made off-handed I'm sure, still brings me peace. That's why I love Angela Hospice.
I would never recommend this place to anyone! My grandpa received at home care from them and we had nothing but problems. The caseworker actually said talking to my grandpa while he is sleeping takes time off his life! I called multiple times and tried to get answers and wasn't called back for days. When things got really bad they told us "good luck" and were rude! It breaks my heart that my grandpa is a world war 2 vet and fought for them and in return got nothing but problems!
Our family will always give thanks and praise to the staff/volunteers of Angela Hospice for the care and compassion given our entire family during the seven months of hospice my mother was given at your care facility.
We should all be so fortunate to have these people in our lives.
They offer free one-on-one greif counseling. I started going there about 2 years ago to see Rebecca DeRaub. She has been amazing! She's so kind and understanding. I'm so glad I found Angela Hospice. It has helped me heal after the loss of my brother.
I don't know anything about your Hospice - but I do know one of your employees - Grace Ann Lacca - if if you weren't a great place - she wouldn't be there
My husband received home care from Angela Hospice for the last two months of his life. We couldn't have been more impressed by every aspect of this organization - from the initial presentation at the hospital, to the nurses who were available at all hours to answer questions, to my husband's nurse and social worker who visited him at home. My husband was wary of starting hospice care, but after the early visits he looked forward to them and knew that they were helping him live the best life he could. I will be forever grateful for the amazing care he received from Angela.
Angela Hospice was founded by the Felician Sisters. The Sisters believe in compassion, respect for human dignity, solidarity with the poor, transformation, justice and peace. These values reflect the generous work of the Angela Hospice staff and volunteers. They are a truly caring group of people, and experts in their field!
Martha was very unprofessional. Was not measuring fluid intake of my father was in her hospice care. She had no regard that my father was being over medicated and under hydrated. Martha just said "he will die when his body is ready". She should have said, "your father is going to die of lack of hydration, starvation, and acidosis from over medication." Angela Hospice, or at least this nurse, was very uncaring and not completely fulfilling my fathers request to stay hydrated.
My mother-in-law was treated lovingly as the end of her life. The staff treated her like she was their family.
I had three very close family members cared for by Angela Hopsice at the end of their lives. One was at home, one was in a nearby facility, and one was in the care center. I can say that while all three experiences were very different, all three were given professional, and loving care by the Angela Hospice team. Family members were cared for, guided, and informed during the most challenging of life experiences. The mission of Angela Hospice of providing comprehensive, compassionate, and Christlike care was and is certainly exemplified in the hearts and actions of the staff and volunteers!
The nurses at Angela hospice took such great care of us as a family. They were very professional and some of the most caring professionals that I have ever come in contact with in a professional medical setting. I highly recommend Angela hospices services to anyone and everyone, you will not be sorry.
My son Andy was a patient in the My Nest Is Best program (for children). He was visited at home by his nurse Wendy and Social Worker Leslie. The love, kindness and care was outstanding. Angela Hospice made the last few years of his life comfortable and well cared for. Thank you Angela Hospice for your compassionate presence in our sons life.
My mother and several friends have LIVED out the end of their life with Angela Hospice. Whether home care or resident in their facility, they have all received the Christ-like care promised. I am a donor and BIG fan of Angela Hospice.
The care and compassion shown by the staff and volunteers at Angela during my mom's stay, comforted me during a trying time. I feel that there could not be a better hospice--not only for the patient, but also for the family. I will never forget their loving care.
My husband was at Angela for 5 weeks before he passed away from lung cancer . The care & compassion for him & the rest of our family could not be surpassed.. That was 2 years ago. Since then I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. My family knows & agrees that when my time comes, Angela Hospice is where I want to be.
My adult children did not know much about hospice care,& are very impressed & grateful for the care their Dad got & the support given to all the family , from adults to grandchildren.
We are very thankful for everyone at Angela Hospic home care & for everyone at the care center.
My husband was with home care for several months before going to the care center.
The nurses and staff at Angela Hospice were able to take the worst time in my life and make it something beautiful with the most respect and dignity for my mom and our family. If anyone has to deal with a situation like this I highly recommend using Angela Hospice.
My aunt spent a little over a year at Angela Hospice. The staff took amazing care of her and made her as comfortable as possible during that time. The religious and spiritual support and services are so beneficial as well. This spring we thought it was the end and I could not believe how wonderful the staff was to her and the family. The priest and one of the sisters came and performed the sacrament of the sick and prayed with the family. Many staff members came by to see her, ones that were not involved in her care that day, to say goodbye. Miraculously she came out of it and again the immediate attention and care she received was exceptional. She passed away yesterday and although I was not able to be there I am confident that she passed as peacefully as possible thanks to this amazing facility and its staff. I would recommend Angela Hospice to anyone in need of its services.
I knew immediately upon entering the Care Center for an informational meeting, that this was where my father needed to be, and by the grace of God, a space opened for him. My father spent his last days in the care of the wonderful people at Angela's Hospice. Words cannot express my family's gratitude for the compassionate, dignified care that he, and the rest of us, received during his time at Angela's. Staff treated him with kindness, respect and love and for that our family is eternally grateful.
Every single person with whom we had contact was considerate of our dad and also of our family's feelings and needs. The housekeeping staff asking if we minded the room being dusted; a Nurses Aide noticing us using electronics for writing and bringing us a journal to write in so that we could share our thoughts as we sat with our father; volunteers arranging flowers for the rooms, bringing a snack cart around, or providing a warm meal. These things may seem minor but they make such a big difference to a family facing the loss of a loved one.
Nobody plans to need Hospice for a loved one but if it becomes necessary for your family as it did for mine, I would give Angela Hospice the highest possible recommendation.
My aunt was diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer in April 2010. It was devastating to us as her family, and we supported her through two rounds of chemotherapy. When it became obvious that chemotherapy wasn't working she wanted Angela hospice to take care of her at this end of her life. She was able to stay in her apartment and lived out her last 5 weeks in her familiar surroundings. The social worker, nurses, and really the entire staff were nothing short of a blessing. No question was ever unanswered. After her passing I was able to receive counseling free of charge. This is how I believe I managed to endure my grief and loss. It was so comforting to be able to talk with someone who understood all my emotions. I will always have a place in my heart for Angela hospice and will never hesitate to whole heartedly refer others to their care!
My mom died from cancer in June of 2009 at the age of 61. As you can never prepare yourself for losing a loved one so young., Angela Hospice went above and beyond to make this period of time more bearable. My mom died at home and the nurse from Angela Hospice came and bathed her, changed her clothes and even brushed her teeth prior to the funeral home picking her up. We thanked her for doing that and she responded with, " everyone deserves to go with dignity" The social worker then came to our home and immediately set up bereavement services for my then 4 year old daughter who spent every day with her grandma. Within two days, she met with Sally. Sally was amazing with my daughter. I was so distraught over losing my mom and then to see my young child so hurt and angry was unbearable. Sally has forever changed our lives. Her caring and compassionate ways are beyond words. She would send letters to my daughter in the mail (which every 4 year old loves to get mail!) I attended the "Getting through the Holidays", "Lift you up in Laughter" event and the children's Christmas event the first year. It was exactly what my family and I needed. We participate in the Walk of Remembrance each year. I cannot say enough good things about Angela Hospice. The people that work there are truly amazing people that will forever have a special place in my heart.
I cannot tell you what a profound effect Angela Hospice had on my life. My mother battled COPD for as long as I can remember. Finally the meds were no longer able to manage her breathing and hospice care was recommended. Mom was moved to Angela Hospice where she passed within a few days. The staff at Angela worked diligently to keep her pain free and they all took such tender loving care of her needs. But beyond that they took care of me and my family and three months after her passing they still continue to care for us.
Every single staff member from the doctors to the nurses to the aides and volunteers are angels in human form and I hope Angela Hospice gets all the recognition they deserve.
My father-in-law had terminal cancer and died early in 2012. The whole experience was heart breaking and gut wrenching but the one silver lining to all of it was the care that he received toward the end of his life. Had it not been for Angela Hospice I don't know what we would have done. The facility was so much nicer than a hospital and the staff, who had seen it all before, was so kind and compassionate that it turned a terrible event into a wonderful experience. I can't say enough good things about Angela Hospice.
I have served on the Board at Angela Hospice for two years. I have been so impressed by the caring attitude exhibited by the employees of AH. There is an incredible passion exhibited by the employees to care for their patients and their families with dignity and sensitivity. I am honored to be a Board member.

I'm happy to be a volunteer on a committee with Angela Hospice and can't say enough about how impressed I am with their work. High quality, state-of-the-art care for families dealing with the toughest times of life. Knowing that such an organization is available, in a beautiful facility, offering compassionate care and support to patients and families. For anyone that is not aware of the benefit of hospice services, when dealing with end of life issues, families would benefit greatly from contacting Angela Hospice for support - the sooner, the better. Knowing what to expect, how to best help the loved one who is dying and, after, utilizing the grief support groups that the center hosts. SO helpful ....
Both my mom and my aunt were at home and residential patients at Angela Hospice. Words can not describe the support, professionalism and compassion of the agency and their staff. They are a lifeline to the transition to death for friends and family coping with the process. When we first arrived at the residential facility, chocolate chips cookies were baking, a harpist was playing and beautiful nuns seemed to float by with the sweetest smiles...mom and I laughed and said we were in "heaven" and we were as close as possible on this earth. Angela Hospice had a great influence on my daughter; today she is a hospice social worker paying it forward. God Bless this agency and every staff and volunteer that provides support.
