Mission: The Valley Zoological Endowment raises funds, invests them, and distributes income to Valley Zoological Society for the sole purpose of operating the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas. Funds to begin the endowment were raised from the general public to match grants made possible by the Earl C. Sams Foundation and the Lightner Sams Foundation.
