USO of Northern Ohio

Rating: 1.5 stars   2 reviews

Issues: Human Services, Sports

Location: 9199 Market Place Broadview Heights OH 44147 USA

Mission: The USO is chartered by the Congress as a non-profit charitable corporation. It is not a government agency, but is endorsed by the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense. Each President has been the Honorary Chairman of the USO since its inception in 1941.The USO mission is to provide morale, welfare and recreation-type services to uniformed military Personnel. The original intent of Congress and enduring style of USO delivery is to represent the American people by extending a "Touch of Home" to their military members. Thus, although some USO programs/services are similar to those provided by other agencies, the hallmark of the USO has been and will continue to be HOW, as much as WHAT, services are provided.

everyone is afraid of bob hope,he is the problem. this organization has lost it's passion for the troops. how can it be for the morale and entertainment of the military when it has no relationship with the local professional sports teams. the local military used to receive tickets to games and shows at all of the cleveland venues, not now. they are wasting money on care package facilities when the troops, even in the war zones can get everything they need. the board needs to step up and make some drastic changes or risk loosing their charter.

Volunteers are treated like crap. The org is good in theory but in practice there is no reason the director of ops should get a paycheck when so much is wrong. Too much goes into her paychecks and not to the Troops and families

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

slander and harrassment especially from paid staff

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Sack Sandy the ops director and get rid of the beast who manages the airport
