Mission: To promote the health and well being of senior citizens and provide educational, recreational, and social programs for our members.
Programs: Promote the health and well being of senior citizens by providing support, socialization, and meals to senior citizens of the upper susitna valley. Luncheons were provided weekly. 1,619 meals were served. Meals were delivered to eligible individuals three times a week by meals on wheels of upper susitna seniors. There were 2,101 meals delivered during the year. Exercise classes were offered 2 days per week throughout the year with an average of 7 in attendance. Tai ji quan classes for balance and fall prevention were started in december with 11 persons signed up and participating. In addition, the center has open exercise for 2 hours, 3 days per week. 46 persons take advantage of this. In addition, several special events were held throughout the year including and easter egg hunt for local children, a st. Patrick's day dinner, plant and rummage sales, a senior baazar, and a breakfast with santa event.
to promote the health and well being of senior citizens by providing and managing senior housing. There are six units of senior housing with a waiting list averaging five names. Information is provided to seniors needing heating and rent assistance.
