Mission: The non-violence project exists to significantly change attitudes toward violence among young people, to provide alternatives to violent behavior, and to motivate and engage young people in positive action, building safer, healthier communities.
Programs: Talk it out - trained paid staff of former offenders visit schools to deliver a message of non-violence. Talks nurture an understanding of medical and health consequences of violence and offer clear alternatives.
the ambassador program - ambassadors are selected at each school to get students to develop their own programs to promote non-violence. They become the grass roots "staff" of the project.
girls' voice - a safe setting for girls only to develop character.
the alternatives program - targeted at keeping kids off the streets and exercising body and mind. Sports programs, first aid and cpr training are offered.
