The Non-Violence Project USA Inc. Overview
Programs: The Non-Violence Project USA provides training in character education, emotional intelligence, anger management, peer mediation and conflict resolution through the following programs:"Talk It Out!": a motivational presentation series has reached over 350,000 youth in Miami-Dade County. "Talk It Out!" is delivered to large assemblies of young people in schools and community centers. Each session is about one hour in length. The presentation nurtures a strong understanding of the consequences of violence and clear alternatives to violence."AMBASSADORS": a six to eight session training given to students during school hours that includes Character Education, Leadership Skills, Conflict Resolution, Peer Mediation and Goal Setting."Girls'Voice": a six to eight training session given to female students. This leadership program provides a safe setting for girls to develop and become competent, capable, courageous, and compassionate young women."Project LOVE": program that encourages young people to make a commitment to helping others. While providing a service they realize the spirit of giving. This develops a sense of self-worth and self-respect. Project LOVE is an ongoing community volunteer program."ENLACE": program motivates the "at risk" Latino community toward higher education."POWER Project": a one-on-one menotring program for youth in at-risk schools."GEARUP Academies": a partnership with Florida International University, GEARUP Academies provide unique learning opportunities.
