Reviews for The Lenny Zakim Fund
The Lenny Zakim Fund was started by Lenny Zakim, former Exec Director of the ADL NE Regional office, and a consummate bridge builder to all people and organizations. The center-piece cable-stayed bridge built as part of the Big Dig in Boston is named the Lenny Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge in his memory. He created The Lenny Fund as a vehicle for tiny grass roots social service organizations to obtain visibility and funding that would be otherwise unavailable to them or for which they would have no path to potential benefactors. Organizations apply for and receive grants annually, some for as little as a few thousand dollars, money that can make a difference in their operation or failure as an organization. These tiny non-profits make a difference at the most critical point of focus for their constituents....on the ground and in their neighborhood. The recipients are recognized at an annual event that provides them an opportunity to tell their story. This organization makes a real difference across a wide range of local issues and is a truly meaningful legacy to Lenny's memory.
