The purpose of the Council on Aging is to ensure the availability of quality services to the elderly by obtaining funding and providing those services. The Council believes the older people of the nation are entitled to assistance in remaining independent as long as possible. Its objective is to provide 5 meals per week either delivered to the home or served hot at meal sites and to provide other assistance as needed. The agency addresses the needs the elderly for nourishment, transportation, and socialization.
