This organization has been such a blessing for my family as my brother was in the Marine Corps for 5 years. This organization has a wealth of knowledge and the members are willing to do anything at all to help in anyway possible. I have been with this organization since they started and my relationship with them has lasted beyond my brothers enlistment and I will continue to serve this organization and do anything possible to help with whatever they may need or do. They are an Amazing group of people and the continue to do wonderful things for or Military.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my own life as they have been there through my brothers injuries sustained during combat in OIF and they have become a part of my family.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that they are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done for our Military men and women and their families.

T.A.M.P.A. supported my husband while he was recovering from literally "blinding" wounds as a Marine in Iraq. Cyd even overnighted his favorited Cuban food to him while he was in the hospital. T.A.M.P.A. educates, entertains and loves everyone they seek out to help! 5 years after my husband was wounded we are proud to be a part of T.A.M.P.A. and support them however we can.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could do a lot more of what it always does for a lot more people. You need money to educate and build support for families and troops. T.A.M.P.A. will use the $ to help these warriors and their families.

Ways to make it better...

they had more money to help more people.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

One thing I'd also say is that...

Although I am the Executive Director and one of the original Co-Founders of the group, I too have a story to tell. When my son went into the Marine Corps in 2003 I did not have a clue what was ahead. Meeting other family and friends on a regular basis gave me a chance to learn more than I could ever have imagined. This group became our "family" and have stood beside us through thick and thin. We too are "banded" together with bonds that will last a lifetime. It is a wonderful experience to lead our members with exciting projects, new programs and to become closer with them personally each and every day. This is an awesome group that truly believes that ALL things are possible when it comes to supporting our military men and women and their families.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my own life when our son was severly wounded in Iraq.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find a way to serve our members better and make their lives easier during difficult times and deployments.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their hard work and dedication to ALWAYS get the job done.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

I have a wonderful group of officers and board members who work hard for our cause.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Add more projects and programs that would assist our military men and women, veterans and families all over the globe!

Ways to make it better...

we could just reach more families.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Gaining new members without proper exposure and funding for projects and programs that we know are needed.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I am so very proud to be a part of this awesome group and thank God I have had them around to hold me up and keep me going.

Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 787 has had the pleasure to work with T.A.M.P.A. and has a wonderful experience with their organization. The are very energetic, dedicated, patriotic, commitment to help injured veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars especially Marines. They have dedicated themselves to the Marine Corps core values of honor, courage and commitment. The members of this oranization is one big family who have endured the suffering and recovery of their veteran who was injured. Nothing gets in their way to help these young men and women. Without a doubt and very well deserving organization to support with your donations.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

They are hard working, they think outside the box when planning activities and valuable ways to raise funds to assist veterans.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Professional, hard working, caring and treat everyone like family.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

There is so much good they could do to help the injured veterans in Tampa who have suffered terrible injuries and bear the mental scars of war.

Always ready to serve are the Tampa Area Marine Parents Association. If you tell the organization you need their help, they are there, no matter what project for the military family, the Marine Parents are there. Boxes for the troops overseas, no problem, helping raise funds for military groups, no problem, standing beside Gold Star and Blue Star Families in time of need, they are there. If I call on this organization for help, I know they will not let me down. Thank you Tampa Area Marine Parents. You are the tops. You have sent boxes to service folks addresses I have sent you, you have stood beside me when we grieved. You have attended fund raisers and welcome homes. You are very much appreciated.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

asking for their help in several projects. Latest venture is that they have been sending packages to my sons platoon in Afghanistan. He gets the pkgs to the front.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Not....they have been outstanding to me, I only have good things to say.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I only have to email them and ask them if they can help or put me in the right direction, and if they do not know the answer they will find it for me.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

I have met the President of the organization her name is Cyd, and also quite a few of the wonderful parents who work hard to support our troops and their families.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

help the wounded warrior program,as well as helping military families in need, home and abroad. Pkgs to troops for morale. The list is endless, however, they would spend the money wisely, making sure that our military is not forgotten.

Ways to make it better...

Could not have been better, this organization has never let me down, they have the most outstanding "can do attitude" I am amazed at all they do.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The State of the economy. Monies are needed to send packages to our troops, people are unable to give as much as they use to. This organization faces challenges in that funds are needed constantly to support their worthwhile projects, troop support.

One thing I'd also say is that...

There are many organizations out there that say they will do things, and don't. This is a CAN DO organization, that stand up for not only our wonderful Marines, but for other servicemen and women. I am proud to know such outstanding parents.

My son was blinded in Iraq in August of 2004 and T.A.M.P.A was a new group at that time. The parents of the T.A.M.P.A group were there for me every step of the way, Cyd, the president even overnighting Mike's favorite cuban food from his favorite restaurant in Tampa to all of us! T.A.M.P.A is a very cohesive group that works together to provide support for the Marines and their family.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Tiredless giving of their time.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Provide support for every Marine family in the world that has a son or daughter serving their country!

While I was in the Marines, I lost many friends, my mother passed away a month going to Fallujah in which I participated in Operation Phantom Furry. After the Marines I was going in a downward spiral with no meaning to my life. Then Juli, a TAMPA memeber and mother to a Marine brother that went to war with me tried to get me to go to TAMPA functions. At first I didnt want to do anything or be anywhere with alot of people but she got me to go. And then I met so many people who cared that I fought and shed bled for this country. I met other members like Cyd and Momma Dee who made me feel proud to be a Marine again. Because of Cyd I got to go to the Super Bowl! Momma Dee made me realize everything happens for a reason. The reason why my Marines gave their lives instead of me was for me to experiance life and the freedoms of this country and to raise my son and cherish every moment. TAMPA is here to help Marines like me that lost their path and to help those stay on the path. God bless every member of TAMPA!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

functions, events and with my life.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make their organization bigger so they can support a wider range of area.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the members and their care for veterans

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

kind hearted human beings who knew that Marines are not getting the support they need.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

it could save so many Marines who are faceing the same challenges as me. Marines who gave up so much and are heading towards destruction. TAMPA cant save them all with what they got but there trying and not giving up.

Ways to make it better...

this organization had more funding and support from our Government so they can help our troops in harms ways.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

support and funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

TAMPA needs more publicity so that our troops know that there is help out there besides the VA and the VA all ready haves their hands full.

My husband and I look forward to the group's monthly meetings and activities, and we have felt fortunate to have met a really nice group of people who share the experiences of having a child/sibling/spouse in the Marine Corps. You can get as involved as you want, and there is absolutley no pressure. I personally feel better when our son is deployed by staying in touch with people and organizations involving the military. We are thankful for our new friends, and appreciate the camaraderie.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

dealing with our son's deployment. It is comforting to have someone to talk to that has gone through the same thing and perhaps still has a son/daughter deployed.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

caring and well informed about the services available to Marines and Veterans.

I first heard about T.A.M.P.A. when we met Cyd at the Veteran's Memorial Park. Her energy and dedication to Marines and their families is impressive. However, she is also willing to do anything to promote other support group organizations and assist ALL military branches. Our group participated in the R4F that they sponsored. The level of preparedness and professionalism was remarkable. The effort this organization expends toward the cause of military support is inspiring, I feel honored to be included in this circle of friends.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the chance to help them complete their mission.
