The outreach and education program of SIDS Resources strives to permeate the infant care giving community with the information necessary to keep babies healthy and safe.
Over 100 babies die each year in the state of Missouri. The risk reduction and safe sleep messages are designed for all care providers (grandparents and child care providers) so that all those who care for infants (or teach others to care for infants) know the strategies to prevent infant death. Because SIDS remains the # 1 cause of infant death in the age range from one month to one year, and because 90-95 % of sudden infant death situations occur in unsafe sleep situations; it is critical that the community understand the risk and apply risk reduction/safe sleep strategies

To promote safe practices which reduce the risk of infant death and to provide bereavement support for families who have lost babies.

After all, I am a counselor and certainly know the stages of grief. After several months of finding myself in the depths of depression, I ... more »
