Where else are old, abandoned or abused farm animals going get the love, attention and first-class care they get here? I have been involved with the farm for about two years, and continue to be impressed with all "Farmer Anne" and her crew do and how they genuinely care for the animals. It is a great place for youth and adults alike to learn more about how to properly care for animals, the excitement of finding new baby chicks, the sadness of losing an elderly animal, and the great bond that a farm animal and a human animal can have for each other. It is hard work, the needs of the animals don't take vacations, the vet bills never stop, and something always needs to be repaired. But it is also a warm, loving place where you will always have a friend!
this farm is a wonderful place to visit and volunteer! I have been coming here for several years and every visit is a new expedience. You never know when you will be called upon to save a hen"s life, relocate baby chicks or extract Mr. Newman from a car.
When I first arrived at the farm, I expected to shovel poop a couple of times, be forgotten, and then not come back. It's been almost 2 years since I first arrived and I haven't regretted a minute spent there. Between the bright, sweet volunteers, the gentle and genuinely entertaining animals, and all of the projects going on - there's no reason not to keep coming. It's easy to get carried away doing chores, starting new projects, finishing old ones, especially since it benefits so many animals. Even if you only come for a visit, you'll find someone (be it a critter or a person) that stays with you, long after you pass through the big red gate at the end of the driveway.
A great cause carried out by wonderful volunteers! I have visited and donated on several occasions, and have always been impressed by the sheer amount of work and care everyone here has for all the animals. Great team spirit and love of animals.
This farm is a small and intimate environment where we can connect directly with animals. We get lots of hands on experience with the animals. A very happy place!
