Programs: Saint Louis Effort for AIDS provides direct services to people living with HIV and AIDS. Programs include case management, psychosocial support, and PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support). In addition, the agency provides HIV counseling and testing and HIV prevention information through the AIDS/STD Helpline, internet interventions and a speakers bureau. Targeted prevention is also provided through prevention case management and outreach into specific communities including men who have sex with men, people of color and high risk heterosexuals. The Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) program targets those areas in Saint Louis with the highest prevelance of HIV infection in an effort to reduce transmission rates within and around those zip codes. The Women's Wellness Community Outreach Program specifically targets at-risk women of color. Targeted Case Management programs reach out to  underserved minority populations to provide support services and education. Social programs and events for clients and others living with HIV in the Saint Louis area help eliminate isolation and increase client empowerment. EFA's Volunteer Program was recertified by the United Way Volunteer Center in 2009. In 2009, EFA received support from 300+ volunteers from the Saint Louis Metropolitan area who were able to save the agency in excess of $93,373. Those savings made it possible for the agency to serve our clients and the community.

The Mission of Saint Louis Effort for AIDS is to provide education on the prevention of HIV/AIDS and comprehensive support services for those affected by the disease. Saint Louis Effort for AIDS is known for innovative and nationally recognized programming in the area of HIV/STDs, including mobile testing, co-locating case managers with primary care providers, providing targeted case management at eight area prisons, educating older adult and young at-risk populations, and increasing prevention awareness throughtout the region. As HIV/AIDS treatments and client needs have changed, EFA has adapted to accommodate and address those needs.
