Target demographics: We serve children, youth and adults who work or reside in the South of Market neighborhood. At our two child development centers, Judith Baker Child Development Center and Yerba Buena Gardens Child Development Center, we serve children from infancy to age five. More than half of the families we serve are considered low-income, based on state definitions, and our staff and clients mirror the diversity of the South of Market community. We speak a variety of Asian, European and African languages, and offer many of our programs in Spanish and Tagalog.

Direct beneficiaries per year: At our two child development centers and the FRC, we serve more than 1,000 children, youth and adults each year.

Geographic areas served: South of Market, San Francisco

Mission:
Our mission is to provide quality early childhood education and comprehensive family support services to families in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood.
Results:
We started as a one-room preschool in 1970 and have grown over the last 4 decades to 2 child development centers that serve about 140 children every year, and a comprehensive family resource center that serves almost 1,000 children and families.
