The professional and working relationships between Conservation Districts (esp. North Yakima CD) and the South Central RC&D Council are a model for all Councils in Washington State. Recognition of each organizations strengths to complete a common goal drive the success of fish passage restoration and fisheries enhancement in the region. Each RC&D and CD in the state should strive to emulate the effective partnerships working on behalf of important, limited natural resources. These organizations work effectively together, not against each other in a spirit of netural resource betterment.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the spirit of coordination and professionalism between SCRC&D and North Yakima CD.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Copy it and market it to the six other Councils in Wa state.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Coordinator Heather Simmons-Rigdon.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

are all professional and work together.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Fix all anadromous streams in the region and sustain salmon, and steelhead returns in the region.

Ways to make it better...

The day of the field trip was very cold. A warmer day would have been nice.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Program leadership at the state level.

One thing I'd also say is that...

we hope to emulate them and impress our local CDs this is an effective and productive way to do business.

The South Central Washington RC&D Council provides an excellent local support group for facillitating and implementing natural resource projects. They have done a outstanding job at bringing together multiple stakeholders to work on issues in effective ways. They also bring a significant amount of revenue and jobs into our region that benefit fish, water quality, community development and other natural resources in our area.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Working with a diverse group of people with passion for making our community a better place to live.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Dedicated and driven.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Greatly increase it's efforts to help get so many good ideas in our community off the ground. That is what they do, help things happen. It's not glamorous, but it is necessary.

The South Central Washington RC&D is a lead RC&D for the State of Washington. Their impact in the region and state-wide is outstanding. I've worked with the Council and RC&D Coordinator, Heather, on a number of occasions and can't say enough great things about their willingness to help; their forward-thinking and can-do approach! They are good at what they do and they get thigns done! Thank you! I'm so thankful that you do what you do.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
