Mission: Society of the helpers of st. Herman provides long term professional help and residency to developmental disable adults.
Programs: The west broward community residence (wbcr) was opened in 1978in a residential neighborhood located in fort lauderdale florida. Wbcr provides residential habilitation training to adult males with developmental disabilities and mental health issues. The men in the home require 24 hour staffing 7 days a week. They are provided training and supervision to improve independent living skills and to maintain current skills. They are provided with medical oversight, taken to needed medical professionals, and given opportunities for recreation and leisure in the community.
the "help for independent living and leisure" (hill) residence was opened in 1984 in a residential home located in fort lauderdale florida. Hill provides independent living skills training to developmentally disable adults ("clients") that live in the residence on a long term basis. Although 24 hour staff supervision is at hill, client progress permit the curtailment of supervision for some clients.
