The Showcase Arts Foundation provides two essential things to Pinellas County Florida.
1. Professional quality theatrical experiences at prices that are accessible for people on a budget such as senior citizens, young families and students. We bring theater to them with our traveling repertory company, Gypsy Stage Rep by performing in unusual spaces such as public libraries, art galleries and even coffee houses. We ask for donations for $5 - $10 for our shows.
This fall we are developing our improv troupe and will take that out on the road to entertain and eventually teach audiences. We are creating improv seminars for business professionals and for kids to help address social issues like bullying and self esteem.
2. We train actors in our actors studio at absolutely no cost to them. It is our mission to have continuing education for actors that have completed their basic education in high school and college and need to sharpen their skills and work with other professionals for personal growth.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Find ways to get additional funding so we able to offer more training and be able to give our actors more incentive funding so they can spend more time working on their skills and going out into the community to work with kids and seniors.
