Have you come across a child who can neither see, hear and speak? Yes, 3 disabilities together! Can you imagine what and how this child will learn, live and grow, especially when 95% of our learning comes from what we see and hear! Sense India works with such "deafblind" and multi-sensory impaired children and young adults. We are striving to bring meaning into such lives through education, training and support to parents. It is almost 20 years that I have been with Sense India and have witnessed transformed lives through your support so come forward and extend a helping hand.

How many times have we been tired of our kids, who are perfectly normal, scolding them and telling them to be understandable and calm them down, in times when they don't understand stuff or get sick etc.

The guys at sense do these, but the magnitude of the whole thing changes, because the kids can't hear or see. Imagine yourself at a place where you have to explain to a child what is happening to him/her and then to make them overcome the same and to teach them to live a life. Not just children adults too loose their sight and sound and helping the adults to adjust who have become a child once again, who have to forget all that they have learned and have to learn things all again, is another task all together.

Over and above that, many of us may want to help a blind person cross the road, what we don't realize is that some of them cannot hear you, so trying to talk to them is futile, trying to make a deafblind individual explain that this is going to happen to you on the street, is another task.

So Sense working on getting the kids and individual under their wing, trying to educate them, trying to educate the public about them and to make sure the individual rights of these individuals remain intact, is by far no small act. I was stupified and had to collect myself. Their work and efforts and the efforts of the deafblind individual really minuscule things we do.

Incredible Cause and an Incredible team of people. Working for people with deafblindness in a diverse country like India is no easy task. Yet day after day, the Sense India team - including their partners and the parents and educators of children with deafblindness ensure that identified children and adults now live a fuller life. Highly transparent and ethical in its functioning, it's hard not to be inspired by the work and the people. Kudos and all the best.

The work that Sense India is doing is phenomenal. Deafblindness is a unique and complex disability. In a developing country like India, people with disabilities continue to remain invisible. But through their work, it is evident that Sense India is going above and beyond to ensure children and adults with deafblindness have access to better care, medical facilities and livelihood opportunities.

Sense India works with some of the most marginalised and invisible children of India. Deafblind children face dual disability of vision and hearing loss making their world limited to their fingertips. Sense India is the only national level NGO in India that works exclusively with these children. It provides education, rehabilitation, vocational training and employment to deafblind children and adults.

Sense India is a unique organization working exclusively for the deafblind and multi-sensory impaired population of the country. People with deafblindness are on extremes of margins of development and are denied services and rights. However, through the Sense India work, they are receiving support services and becoming independent in their lives. I am impressed by the work commitment of the whole organization and believe they will always remain the top nonprofit organization in India.

Highly transparent and efficient when it comes fund usage including monitoring, tracking and reporting.

An organization which has been working very very hard to raise awareness on deafblindness. Extremely ethical when it comes to clarity on fund usage and brutally honest when it comes to talking about the rights of the differently abled. Powerful. Very powerful.

In a world where education system lacks inclusive education, organisation such as Sense International are working to bridge the gap. A child, who has every right to get educated irrespective of his physical disabilities is being supported by Sense. This has not only made them self confident but has also created a huge impact on their families.
