Mission: The rappahannock general hospital foundation is a not for profit corporation established for the benefit and support of rappahannock general hospital. Its purpose is to assist the hospital in accomplishing its mission through the acquisition, management, and disbursement of philanthropic assets including endowment and by building support for the hospital within the community. It is to receive charitable gifts to be used for maintaining and improving the services and programs of rappahannock general hospital.

Programs: Financial support provided to rappahannock general hospital, to assist the hospital in purchasing equipment, funding building renovations, enhancing staff education programs, and offsetting the cost ofpatient care provided to the community.

thrift store - the foundation operates a thrift store called seconds unlimited. This store sells second-hand merchandise that is donated to them from individuals. All the staff except the store manager volunteers their time. Seconds unlimited enhances community awareness of the hospital's programs and services and builds hospital support within the surrounding community, while serving the community with desirable goods at affordable prices.

indigent fund (the elizabeth barnhardt sanders fund) in may 2008, the rgh foundation received a $250,000 bequest from mrs. Sanders, establishing an endowment to help indigent patients from lancaster and middlesex counties. Distributions of the interest earned on the fund are used to support indigent patients from those geographical areas.
