Mission: Provide caring, effective services to help those with the greatest challenges recover from mental illness and associated chronic illnesses.
Programs: Community-based mental health program - our community-based programs partner with clients to address mental illness, homelessness, trauma, and serious health problems. Teams coordinate all medical and psychiatric care, housing, medication management, activities of daily living, treatment planning and goal setting, linkage with community resources, supportive counseling, and crisis intervention.
residential program - places for people, inc. Routinely has the highest rate in missouri of independent living for people with serious mental illness. We support independent living by assisting people we serve with finding and negotiating rental arrangements, offering agency-owned housing units, or utilizing rental subsidy programs.
psychosocial rehabilitation program - our psychosocial rehabilitation services program operates as a day program, offering recovery-oriented social activities, vocational/educational assistance and health and wellness education. "the club" is open 365 days/year and provides meals to clients each day.
children services program - our children services programs offer services for youth experiencing behavioral health problems, including court interventions by providing intensive in-home family centered services. In addition, we provide an early intervention program that helps address behavioral concerns with preschool children and offers positive strategies for promoting good behavior. Hiv services program - our hiv services program utilizes a specialized team that works with clients who are hiv positive, have co-occurring mental illness and may have substance abuse problems. The team's goal is to advance clients' health by improving mental health, decreasing substance abuse, and improving access to physical health care. Immigrant and refugee program - the st. Louis area is a hub for refugees, increasingly including many people who have endured state-sanctioned torture in their home countries. Our immigrant and refugee program assists refugees who require mental health services, while learning to live in a new culture. Research and evaluation program - our research and evaluation program is focused on the constant evolution of treatment models, evaluating the impact of specific models on our clients' lives, their housing, substance abuse, mental health symptoms, and other outcome measures. We publish results and speak at national conferences, as well as provide consultation to start up programs.
