Mission: To create viable affordable housing opportunities and to address associated basic needs for the severely impacted and neediest individuals and families displaced by hurricane wilma, through a comprehensive public/private partnership and case management network.
Programs: In november, 2005, the partnership for recovery, inc. Was established as a public private partnership dedicated to generate private sector resources and leverage public sector funds, programs and services for the purpose of creating viable, affordable housing opportunities and to address the unmet basic needs of miami-dade county residents impacted by hurricane wilma. The population served was individuals and families displaced from their homes and apartment buildings that were deemed unsafe, uninhabitable and/or beyond repair. Immediate assistance was provided to these families and individuals by way of security and utility deposits and rental payments. After meeting the needs of all those about to be homeless through housing relocation, in april 2006, the partnership for recovery, inc. Launched its no blue roofs program, providing new roofing installations or roof repairs to eligible low income homeowners. In june, 2008, the partnership for recovery, inc. Completed over 700 roof installations throughout miami dade county. Upon meeting its goals in response to hurricane wilma, it was determined to maintain the organization's focus on remaining ready to respond to the community's emergency needs in the event of a major hurricane or any other major natural disaster. In light of recent hurricane seasons, which have spared south florida, a high risk area for hurricanes and natural disasters, the organization remains ready to immediately respond by maintaining reserve funds for this purpose. In addition, consistent with its mission statement, partnership for recovery will consider ways in which to focus resources toward addressing affordable housing needs.
