To foster world peace, cultural research, and document traditional initiatives of indigenous peoples and education in ancient knowledge of voyaging and health practices of maritime cultures.
During 2014 the vaka taumako project (vtp) which has been a part of pts; worked with dr. Simon salopuka and the rest of the board of the vtp to facilitate and support the process of forming a separate non-profit organization called the vaka taumako project of solomon islands aka vaka valo group. In july of 2014 a group of 4 leaders of the vtp, 2 pts board members, and a video training consultant participated in a sustainable sea transport conference in fiji. Pts was supported by the us embassy and other international non-governmental organizations (ingo). George and wyeth made 4 public presentations about vtp programs during 2014, and george gave a paper at the pacific history association conference in taiwan. The first rough cut of a video documentary was created and is projected to be complete in 2015. Dr. George also worked on papers and manuscripts for a book about vtp, which is a long term project and does not yet, have a date of completion.
hawaiian cleanse program had one 10 day program in december 2014. Pts gave training sessions and helped facilitate the tranisiton of the cleanse program to the organization what will take over and run hcp moving forward. Pts may assist in future cleanse programs however pts will no longer manage the program.
