Northeast Youth Ballet, Inc.
Mission:
The NYB was established in 1996 as a non-profit pre-professional ballet company with a mission of providing educational opportunities for youth, setting the highest standards for dance and playing an active role in the community. The goal is to educate children and individuals of all ages about ballet through participation in dance or the opportunity to attend a performance. NYB has encouraged over 700 children under the age of 18 from 28 communities North of Boston, Massachusetts, by providing them the opportunity to perform in a full-length ballet or repertory performance. The amateur dancers experience working in a professional environment among seasoned technicians, stage crew, managers and directors. Participants come from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, which creates a multi-cultural experience for the children to work within. Through its STARS Program, over 2,097 older adults, low-income or special needs individuals were given complementary tickets to experience ballet for the first time.
