Tremendous service the Depot provides to the teens of Darien. Our Band played there a few months back and the staff went out of their way to accomodate us and make us feel welcome.Truly look forward to interacting there again

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing revenue raised at a fundraiser go directly back to the teens in ways of parties and purchasing of new game equipment.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The caring and adoration between teens and staff

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Warm and willing to help

The Depot is a wonderful place for the youth of our community to get together with friends, attend events and do community service for the town. The Kiwanis Club of Darien has worked with the youth of The Depot for the past several years in community service projects. The youth have been very helpful to us and we have helped support their projects. Working with the students and the staff at the Depot has been very rewarding. Keep up the good work for our local youth!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

working directly with some of the students with The Kiwanis Club's fundraising projects. It is great to teach the students about giving back to their community!

both my children have attended the Depot thru their teen years and always feel that they can go there and have their "own space". Janice is amazing and caring and does a wonderful job with the kids. My son went there and my daughter helps out there alot and has had many memorable experiences. I am so glad she has a place to go that is safe and comfortable for her.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my children's involvement there.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not change a thing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Its a safe place for my children to go. My daughter has volunteered alot thru The Depot

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

so caring and dedicated

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

help so many more organizations.

Ways to make it better...

My experiences with Janice the Director have never been anything but amazing. She is so dedicated to the kids that are there.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Could always use more funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

My daughter and son always adored Janice. She's such a great person.

The Depot provides a safe place for town teens to informally hang out and a venue for scheduled events such as dinners, team events, car washes, band nights, dances and more. More importantly, it encourages community service opportunities for teens to see how they can make a difference in the world. It also gives the kids a point of contact with adults other than their parents when they need someone to talk to who believes in them.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

having the youth director, Janice, work with my teenage daughter and myself when there was underage drinking at a party. Janice was understanding and helped us work through the situation. Also, volunteering for SafeRides at the Depot - it saves lives !

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the difference it makes in our community ! For example, special needs young adults can enjoy a dance or a birthday party for a peer. They feel special and know they belong when they are at a dance at the Depot, dancing with teen volunteers. Joyful !

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

caring and understanding and compassionate but demonstrate "tough love" when needed. They really care about KIDS and get how stressful and demanding it can be to grow up in this society. They influence our kids well beyond the high school years.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach out to influence more kids, not only in our community but to the surrounding cities of Norwalk and Stamford, where our kids volunteer to help Social Services. The community service opportunities between our towns and those in need are endless.

I am currently a Senior at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. But most of my fondest memories of high school are of my friends and I spending time at the Depot. The Depot helped nurture my love for design and gave me and my friends a place to go when no one wanted to go to their own home or go to a diner where you have to spend money. The Depot became our home, and I will always remember it that way.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My everyday life. I learned so much from the people I spent so much of my time with. And just as importantly in my happiness when I was in high school going to the Depot.

I wish that there was a "Depot" when i was in High School. What a great place to be to hang with friends, contribute to fundraising, learn about yourself etc. It is a place for teens to go and feel like its a place of their own. that is very important in the world today, so many teens feel like they do not have a place of their own. The Depot is a wonderful place. I wish that i could give more money and time to the Depot, i really believe in this place!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

excellent in their dedication to a united cause. A group of people who eat, sleep and breath the Depot.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

last and last for ever and help generations of high schooler and others build character, feel needed and excel as people.

the depot is a wonderful place. its offers many uses for teens in town. while attending darien high school up until last year i made many multiple visits to the depot. the depot has helped me become the good person i am today. not only does it provide a place for teens to hang out at a alcohol and drug free environment, its offered many students trips to rehabilitation centers to help us understand the dangers and reason not to result in drug usage. Janice is an amazing person and without her the depot would not be the same. the depot deserves all the help they can get

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

amazing people. they are understanding and helpful in every way. when there was someone i needed to talk to i knew i could go to any staff memeber at the depot and express my feelings in complete confidential

The Depot is a great place for our community. We have used The Depot for so much as a family. It is a great asset to our community and could be even more efective if Janice had more available to her. The Depot fill a great need in our town.

I went to the Depot all the time when I was in high school in Darien. Weather I was performing there, attending someone else's performance, or just partying with the theater group, the Depot was always there for us.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working with Janice, the program director. Such a servant to her community and an infinitely sincere person. She will help make anything happen.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand. With funding, the Depot could build a larger part of the building and hold dances, concerts, etc. It would be even more of a draw for the middle school / high school community of the town.
