NCCED provides information on available public and private sector resources to its members. NCCED serves as a national network for CDCs, allowing to keep in contact with each other. It also advocates for more resources from federal, state, corporate, and philanthropic sources for CDCs.
NCCED holds two national conferences each year. Each spring a public policy conference is held in Washington, DC and each fall an annual meeting is held. The location of the annual meeting changes each year. NCCED produces two newsletters, a variety of books and operates several special projects. Special projects include: religious institutions and community economic development; human capital; corporate project;, and several technical assistance projects.
