Target demographics: We serve low-income women ages 18 and over and at-risk girls in Detroit with a special emphasis on southwest Detroit.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 300
Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: Lead an activity time for girls; Help women learn improve a skill (e.g., interviewing, resume-writing)

Mission:
Mercy Education Project provides educational opportunities, life skills development, and cultural enrichment for women and girls who have limited access to resources to enable them to improve the quality of their lives.
Results:
100% of our GED graduates entered college, job training, and/or full employment since 2007.
Over 90% of the women who complete the program will obtain the GED.
Girls in our tutoring program make an average of over one grade level improvement in reading and math each year.

Mercy Education Project provides a supportive environment for the women and girls who participate in its programs. When you walk through the door at MEP you sense the inviting and calm atmosphere that allows its students to blossom in ways they may not have experienced before. The staff members ...
