The Mennonite Disabilities Committee (MDC) believes that because all persons are created in God's image, every human life has equal value. Acting on this, the Mennonite Disabilities Committee, as a ministry of Anabaptist and other participating congregations, recognizes the gifts of individuals with disabilities. MDC seeks to do this in ways that promote development of individuals, strengthen the family, and encourage continued congregational involvement.
MDC provides long term residential housing for adults with developmental disabilities through two programs; the Merimna Homes and Goldenrod residential program.
All MDC homes are "community integrated", meaning that disabled persons share their home with non-disabled caregiver companions. Up to three persons with disabilities live in each home.
The six Merimna Homes are located in Goshen, IN. Residential homes at Goldenrod are east of Middlebury, IN.
